All-Star Comics #35

"THE DAY THAT DROPPED OUT OF TIME" Hawkman finds a strange shield inscribed with gratitude to the JSA but non of the members remember seeing it before so Wonder Woman brings the magic sphere from paradise island to find out where it came from. it tells the story of a day when all modern science and invention reverted to earlier forms before disappearing altogether.

the JSA is summoned to the hospital room of their friend Professor Zee, who explains that his assistant (Per Degaton) is responsible for what they are calling the change, that he used the professor's time machine to go back and change a key event but he is shot before he can say what event was changed.

with Zee near-death Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Johnny Thunder guard him while Flash runs to Colossal Caves in hopes of finding penicillin (needed to save Zee) protected from the change by special metal in a time capsule there. He finds Degaton has made the caves his base and used the same special metal to protect his stockpile of modern weapons. Flash is captured and left for dead inside the time capsule. when he escapes Degaton has left with his men so flash returns to the hospital with the penicillin.

Meanwhile, Atom tries to find out what was changed. he finds Degaton and his men robing the vault at Gotham insurance company. after leaning the outcome of a battle was what was changed he too is captured and left in a deathtrap. escaping, he returns to the hospital with the information.

at the same time, Hawkman flies off to protect Gotham's mayor. he too is captured and put in a deathtrap (along with the mayor) but escapes and after taking the mayor to safety returns to the hospital.

lastly, Dr. Mid-Nite attends a meeting of noted scientists in hopes of protecting the great minds there. he too is captured and left in a deathtrap but escapes and rescues the scientists getting them to safety before returning to the hospital.

Back at the hospital, Zee is awake ant saying Degaton changed the outcome of the battle of Arbela in 331 B.C. Green lantern goes to Colossal Caves to take the time machine back from Degaton. he arrives to find Degaton preparing to destroy the time machine and in trying to stop him is sent ten years into the future where he finds the JSA is the only remaining resistance to Degaton's rule. the time machine self destructs and GL uses his ring to send them all back to 331 B.C.

they help Alexander win the battle then faid away as the whole episode is erased from history.
