    The night following the Achaean-Trojan peace talks, the Achaeans spend the night under the protection of the Trojan elder Antenor. Menelaus gets drunk at dinner and relates the history of his romance with Helen.

    Meanwhile Laodike has arranged a secret rendezvous with Akamas in the neutral ground of King Perseus' home in Troy, but while there Akamas learns that his fellow Achaeans are in mortal danger!

    Menelaus finally reveals the full story of his romance to Helen, and how he has protected her for many years. Meanwhile, Akamas shares a tryst with Laodike, a princess of Troy, in a secret location. But Menelaus' happy memories and Akamas and Laodike's rapturous activities are soon cut short. Through Philobia, a foreign friend of Laodike's, Akamas learns of a secret plot to kill the Achaean ambassadors. The final indignity to the Achaeans occurs when they must flee Troy by night for their lives,...
