Welcome to the Year of Superman. It's going to be epic.
I'm actually happy Morrison is off the book. He should stick to graphic novels.
Agree on the first one but WHAAAATT?! on the second one?! Sorry but Morrison has been the saving grace of Superman in the first year of the New 52. His work is light years ahead of the past Superman run in the New 52. He's done fantastic things with the character and made AC one of the best titles of the New 52. Why should he stick to graphic novels?
Because while he has great ideas, he doesn't care about pacing in Action Comics. I can give my friends who don't read comics Allstar Superman, and they'll be impressed. I can't give them Action Comics because he just throws in meaningless science babble and jumps around multiple points in time on the same page with no transition.

@MrArrogant: BleedingCool reported that Morrison announced at MorrisonCon that his run was extended to issue #17.
didn't catch that, thanks. Hopefully it will give him more room to wrap up all his plot points.
I always love reading the press releases from the new writers its always a variation on the same thing, "oh im so happy to write [team or character], [team or character] is such an important legacy to comics and as a huge longtime fan of [it or them] I can't wait to start my work on it"

Am I the only one who ends up thinking of the Nazi-Superman when they see that?
I wasn't... but now I can't stop thinking about that.

And then when they do begin to work on them...they end up making so many changes some people begin to wonder if he's ever read anything with the character or team in it :)
@geoff2005: It's the same suit Kal was wearing at the end of Superman #0. The issue implied that it was an original Kryptonian outfit, like his father wore the day Krypton blew up. This could just be (dare I say it and blaspheme against the Word of Superman) an alternate outfit for him.
Time, and Diggle, will tell.

I don't know yet. Diggle's work with Daredevil on Shadowland was... mediocre but his non-superhero work has been pretty good.
I really like Tony Daniel's art when he doesn't have to rush it when he's writing.
However, I feel bad for Diggle, following Morrison is not going to be easy in the least. Plus the last thing I read from him was Shadowland and I'm not sure the taste has gone away yet.
Nice cover, Tony Daniel.
All you Morrison haters couldn't be more wrong. The man took Action comics to the top ten in monthly comic sales. There hasn't been a Superman writer who's done that in a long time. If he's tight-lipped with his plots, remember that the last time he gave DC plot points to work with was when Countdown happened... Grant saved Superman for the New 52. I hope Andy Diggle is ready to follow that up.
Uhm... Actually I've never read any Andy Diggle's stories. Sorry, I'm kinda new to comic books. Is there any suggestions? DC universe will do.

He hasn't done much for DC, mainly just Adam Strange: Planet Heist and Green Arrow: Year One. I've never read Planet Heist, but I really loved GA: Year One.
Hmm, interesting. I honestly am not sure what to think, on one hand the art and look seem pretty cool, but of the past two Diggle stories I read, neither was really good. Hellblazer Joyride was "ok at best" for awhile, towards the end it really dropped, and then Shadowland was just horrible to me. Seeing how i'm really wanting a good Supe book for my pull list, I guess it's gonna be Lobdell's Superman until this new AC or the new Man of Steel book prove otherwise for me. Don't get me wrong Moorison's AC has been great, but I am kind of tired of the "past" events he's doing.

btw to the first commenter, if u read his interview on another site, diggle actually said he never read much of Superman other than Alan Moore's run.
To outside 85, None of the writer has the liberties to do much changes with Superman. Theres already some continuity to respect as well as the other books with him also

Urgh. Theres no excuse for such rubbish.
I stucked with it through all 6 issues. Waste of my time and money.
The least he could do was give us a good villain that could be a real threat to Superman and one that would add into his rogue gallery.
Bloody hell, he wasted the most important first 6 issues and gave us this stupid alien parasite.
@sethysquare: Thing is Perez handed in his script and told them not to ask him to change anything or tell him about any changes they made to it at the time he mentioned it he hadn't read the finished book, so where Perez stops and committee starts is hard to tell...but I figure it's mostly the committee.
