    Review: Action Comics #894 1

Is Lex Luthor dead? Well, he may be since Death (From the series Sandman) has crossed over into Action Comics! The Black Ring Part 5 continues in one of the most intriguing Action Comics stories in years!   The Good Where to start? I was incredibly leery about Death crossing over into the book, since Vertigo and DC characters are so different from each other in many ways. However, after reading the first few pages, I knew this was a dynamite issue. This is a great introduction to non-...

    The Kubler-Ross Model 2

When it was announced that Neil Gaiman's Death would be appearing in Action Comics, I was overcome by a wave of mixed emotions. The initial joy and awe, was quickly replaced by mounting doubt. How could a mainstream DC book ever do justice to Death? In a world where characters come and go in and out of the land of the living, how could Gaiman's mythos be shown with any dignity or gravitas? How would someone else write Death? I waited months for this book, and let's just say there aren't that man...

    "It's called a Life review" 19

The major problem with is issue is that it is a marketing stunt.  It worked since I am in the minority of not being blown away by this issue.  There are a lot of 5 Star reviews being given to this comic and I believe that is too high.  I did enjoy the issue, but was not floored, even given a 4 star review may have been too high, but that is what this is getting from me.   Death of the Endless does not serve a real purpose in this comic. This comic makes sense if you are a Vertigo rea...

    Death In Action... Comics 1

The Good: This comic is very entertaining. It's very interesting. For 4 issues we've been getting deep looks into one of DC's most famous and most interesting villains, and yet this issue managed to take that one step further. Luthor isn't used to be analyzed, and takes this opportunity to try to turn the tables.Within the discussion there was a ton of interesting topics brought up in the topics of philosophy and psychology. Seriously, Lex Luthor's entire run here in Action Comics could be used...

"You're telling me Death is a teenage girl?" 2

Lex comes to face with Vertigo's Death. Pros: The interaction between Dee Dee aka Death and Lex comes into action finally. Lex's disbelief that this woman is supposed to be the grim reaper is priceless as well as his reaction that he might be dead. Death's personality works so well with the interaction with Lex. Even in the face of...Death Lex doesn't know defeat. The conversation these two have about death, people coming back to life, and where people go when they die is just pure genius. This...

    Early New year's Resolution! 2

Whoa, just whoa, incredible, I'm speechless! Well, for starters, I'm enjoying the heck out of Paul Cornell and Pete Woods run on Action. As the title of my review states, I now resolve to buy anything I see with Cornell's name on it, he is fantastic! Onto the story!  Story  The story starts of in an alternate dimension. Lex Luthor finds his dead body, and also finds himself standing right next to Death. That is, Sandman's Death. Luthor fails to belive that he standing next to Death, and in the s...
