“SUPERMAN TAKES A HOLIDAY!” A new villain, the Thinker, continues to outwit the Man of Tomorrow...until Superman decides to leave for a vacation and allows Clark Kent to take over for him!
Superman: The Thinker stages a bank robbery and is about to escape in an armoured car when Superman shows up and captures his henchmen. The Thinker escapes by having previously kidnapped Lois, and now dropping her from a balloon, so that Superman has to rescue her.
Superman decides to try a new strategy to defeat The Thinker - he goes on 'holiday' so that the rest will give him some new ideas. In his absence, he suggests that Clark can fill in for him. Lois, of course, thinks the idea is crazy...
The Thinker's next job is a theft of classic paintings from an art gallery. True to his word, Clark shows up and, through a series of distractions, manages to use his powers to thwart the robbery without revealing his identity, but the Thinker escapes yet again.
The next day, Lois gets a phone call from the Thinker asking Clark to show up for an interview. Lois insists on coming along, and as Clark and Lois are being taken in a boat to the Thinker's headquarters, a henchman pulls a gun on them and takes them captive. The Thinker informs them that he intends to kill anyone who interferes with his plans, and orders his henchmen to take them in a sea-cave and drown them. Again, by using distractions, Clark uses his powers to overcome the thugs, capture the Thinker and save Lois.
