    Metropolis.

Booster Gold's ratings have plummeted, while Supernova has usurped his position as Metropolis' resident superhero. Skeets goes through historical records, and finds that there will be a nuclear submarine crash in Midtown and Booster decides to investigate.

    Shiruta, Kahndaq.

Question and Renee Montoya are in a Kahndaqi prison. Renee is abused and beaten by the prison guards. As she is dragged past Question's prison cell, she finds it empty and begins to worry about her friend. Renee strikes out against the guards when they won't give her any information, and finds that Question's cell is filling with smoke. With the help of Question, she defeats the guards and the two stumble away from the prison.

    Metropolis.

Clark Kent finds out that it is Ballostro, a crustacean monster which attaches itself to seacraft, which has caused the submarine to crash in Midtown.

Ballostro is attacking the city, and Booster Gold is simply no match for it. Booster tries to electrocute the creature using the powerline of the monorail, but only succeeds in causing a blackout and more panic.

Supernova arrives on the scene, and he and Booster tussle for superhero supremacy. In a last, desperate bid for greatness Booster uses a forcefield to carry the submarine, which is about to meltdown, into the sky. The submarine explodes and Booster saves the city, but dies in the process. Supernova flies up to catch him, but finds only a charred skeleton in Booster's powersuit.

    Hello again, pretty girl 0

This story focuses almost exclusively on Booster Gold with a brief cut to the action in Kahndaq with Renee and Vic.  The Kahndaq part of the story is handled reasonably well, with the two heroes orchestrating an escape, but the real story here has to do with Booster.  Tired of being mocked he is looking for his big break back into the public spotlight.  With a mythical creature attacking Metropolis with a nuclear submarine in tow.  Booster of course goes to save the day, but so does Supernova.  ...
