    One crucial characteristic about Joe Dredd is that he isn't very good with downtime.  In fact, it's very hard to imagine Dredd having a life outside of his work.  Early episodes that included a cleaning lady (Maria) and Walter the Wobot soon disappeared perhaps because the creators realised that  it was very difficult to give Dredd a believable personal life - his mantra is that everything that he is should be about upholding the law.  One way this was accentuated from the early days was that wh...
